5 Steps & Suggestions For Creating Web Sites That Generate Income!

B. Wants websites that lay outside the standard template forms. In other words, you basically have to stick with the standard template in which you can resize and move around. However, this still is limiting to some but not many.

Use JavaScript to include a custom font on your webpages. Libraries like Typekit and Google Web Fonts make it easy to include esoteric fonts on webpages, even if most visitors don’t have those fonts on their computers. It works by embedding the font itself into JavaScript so that it can be decoded by the client on the fly.

A site that is easy-to-use always encourages visitors to stay and read your content. For site with long pages of content this is very crucial as the amount of scrolling required is reduced. Suppose your site doesn’t look good for a particular resolution it is very probable that the visitor will close the browser window feeling that the web page is not for their viewing. Designing stretch layouts that fit any screen resolution ensures that you know all your visitors see a visually appealing and professional site.

When you become a more advanced user, you can feel free to use notepad. Notepad files can be used to create code for your website (HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc) and that code can be saved as a .htm file. Once saved, it can be opened in a web browser and viewed. This is a bit of a roundabout process however, and if you have a good web development suite, you will be able to create your document and view it in real time. This method will save you a lot of time and effort, and many choose it for web design.

Secret #1 cPanel – Make sure you choose a web hosting company that uses cPanel. You would not believe how easy your first website will be if you use this. It stands for Control Panel and allows you to install the best web design software with 1 click of the mouse! The hosting company I use is Hostgator.com – a big American company.

Make a favicon for your site. A favicon will help users who add your website to their bookmark see your page more easily. When they are looking at the bookmarks they have created, your little favicon will make an impression. Try making a favicon that goes with your theme and logo.

I find that some money can be made from this. It depends on how well you design your website and how well you encourage your visitors to click on the banners. Your website has to be carefully designed and the wordings selected to induce people to go to the merchant you represent. Some merchants pay 5%, some 10%, and some more. By carefully choosing the merchant to match the contents of your website you will get more click-throughs. More click-throughs means more sales. It’s a numbers game.

Make some extra money. Once you have your own blog, you can sign up with Google AdSense which let’s you earn money every time someone clicks on an ad on your blog. Another option could be to sell advertising space on your blog.

Alignment is the adjustment of an object relating to page position and other objects and on your page. Alignment provides structural framework for the design. The alignment could affect the atmosphere of the page in addition to how effective it is at getting its message across.

Keeping your website’s links working, and up-to-date, is vitally important. Sound web design favors the user, if you have links that are broken or go to error messages, users will go away. Check each link on your website regularly to be sure they work correctly.

For example, my Quicken ad is on the page where I discuss how I use Quicken, a link to Amazon is on the page where I have reviewed Jim Cramer’s Real Money, and a new site that I found, that offers coupons to major stores is on this page as well as on the article, “Getting More Value Out of what You Buy.” I chose to place my ads that way because I want them to really be a natural fit with my content; I don’t just want the site to become a big advertising space. Also, I do not want to spend a ton of time on affiliations: I want to spend time on content and traffic. The affiliations are not hard once you get the hang of it.

Make sure your site is browser compatible. Your web site should look good in Netscape as well as in Internet Explorer. Don’t stop designing your site as soon as you find that it looks great on IE. Usually Netscape gives some problems, especially when you try doing complicated HTML designs. But don’t give up too soon, usually with patience these problems can be easily fixed.

Because you are on a limited budget, you should focus on free internet marketing methods which generate Targeted traffic. Some of them are article marketing, forum marketing, blogging, etc.

Can’t find a website you really like? Another option is to choose a template. There are many templates or pre-set designs. These come as part of your web design software (such as FrontPage) or you can check out some websites that specialise in designing templates.

And the last and most difficult option you have is to hand code your HTML using simple editors like Notepad. For you to do this, you will need an extensive knowledge and experience on HTML, CSS and Java.
